OK...I have to confess. I have never seen "North & South" (well I own the U.S. North & South Civil War version with Patrick Swayze). While reading several romance blogs I kept coming across Youtube clips of this North & South and blog writers mentioning the movie, so a few days ago I added this DVD to my Netflix list and should be watching it soon. It looks really good and I am looking forward to watching it. :o)

MsMoonlight: Ahhhhh - a whole new group of potential Crusaders!! It started a year ago last November. Sula had seen this and I kept hearing great things about it and finally got a copy for myself. Well to say I was captivated would be like saying - well, I can't think of anything. I went a bit off kilter over it - and Sula, partner Katiebabs and I had a wonderful time coming up with the Great North and South Crusade - trying to get romance readers to watch it - because it's like our favourite romance book come to life with the perfect casting and the perfect acting and perfect story. Much to our delight - we were contagious and Many romance fans watched it (the list under The Crusaders on the sidebar is posts on their blogs about what they thought of it)
If your the least bit curious about how insane we got *HUGE GRIN* you can go back to Nov 1997 to see where it all started.
We even had Lisa Kleypas do an interview for us - along with Sabrina Jeffries and Carrie Lofty.
And.....if you see it and are as captivated as so many of us are, you to can become a Crusader by blogging about it - which reminds me - I need to update the sidebar. Nalini Singh watched it not long ago and was hooked!

Katie: Are you thinking what I'm thinking? There are a lot more bloggers now 2 years later. I'm thinking the Wing Commanders need to file a new flight plan!!

Lea: *g* sigh indeed!!! It's been a while since I'd watched this - but it packed the same kind of wallop as it did the first time I watched it.

Awww Kristie! You do the nicest things!

BTW, if you look at the HTML where you have done the link to me, you do exactly the same HTML to leave a link in a comment. For example

" xurlx "> what you want to say

without the x and spaces.

Never mind. Can't show you in the comments. Sorry.

Marg: I think I get it. I'll have to try soon. :)

Barbara: with cravat/without cravat - I'll take either ;-)

About a week or two ago I was at a used CD store that also sells movies. I checked the shelf on a whim and... SCORE! I am now the owver of N&S! I have plans to show it to a few of my friends. I will recruit more Crusaders, oh yes I will.

Oh, I also just watched the BBC's Shakespeare ReTold movies. Wasn't I happily surprised to see Mr. Armitage playing McDuff!

Shannon!!!! That was a great score!! And there can never be enough Crusaders :) Alas, many we will never hear from - but they are out there - spreading the word!
And that would have been a very pleasant surprise indeed!! I'm dying to see some of the other current show he's in - Spooks aka MI-5 but I think it will take a while before it ever makes it's way to this side of the pond :-( There are a couple of earlier things he's done too that I wouldn't mind taking a gander at.

I somehow knew what was coming the minute I saw the title in my google reader :-)

But I agree ~ any excuse is good enough to watch this.

Dev: Of course it's not the scenes that make it so watchable. It's the music - the songs

heh heh heh heh heh!
